Every Saturday I head on down to South Melbourne market to get myself a mixed bag of delicious treats and weekly staples. It took me a while to work out where to shop and which parts are the best so I am saving you the same confusion with my trusted shop.
The market is on other days but Saturday really carries the best atmosphere and the earlier you go, the easiest to access without the queues.
Flowers by Azalea, fresh, new selections and good longevity. My only go to.
I go to La central for the frozen Jamon croquettes, salty almonds and occasionally a quick glass of cold sherry to toast the weekend.
Swords for a bottle of orange or natural wine, the knowledge here is friendly, light and understanding of his stock.
Franks for fruit, vegetables and often a great piece of advice.
Cheese from K-Sein. Im a stalwart for French and English cheese and the selection is very seasonal and obviously delicious.
and if you have time for a queue then a gozleme from Koy is really worth it.
